Yay! We have winner in the GlassDharma drinking straw giveaway!

Enviromama you are lucky number 6 and a $25 store credit is coming your way. Please respond to my email within 48 hours to claim your glass bling-bling.

I would also like to thank everyone for contributing their fave eco-tips. We got some juicy ideas over the past week. Here’s a sampling below:

  1. Re-use plastic baggies
  2. Keep a recycling bin by every trash can
  3. Use cloth tp (OMG – hardcore – lol!)
  4. Reuse glass jars (from salsa, jam, and nut butters) for everything–as drink glasses, smoothie glasses, storing nuts and grains, sprouting, and storing little things like buttons and coins
  5. Use Onya reusable bags that fold up into the tiniest little package
  6. Compost, and turn those scraps into nutrient-rich soil for your plants
  7. Carry water in a stainless or glass bottle when I’m out of the house
  8. Use 1/2 as much detergent in dishwasher and washing machine and it works just as well
  9. Make your own cleaners with essential oils and vinegar/water mixture
  10. Save plastic food containers to use as seed starters
  11. Use the produce bags for picking up after your dogs and emptying the cat litterbox
  12. Save all bits and pieces of junk, broken jewelry, milk caps etc to use for kids crafts
  13. Feed your veggie scraps to rabbits who will turn that into usable manure PDQ
  14. Re-use dark colored glass vitamin containers for seeds that I’ve saved in the garden
  15. Reuse yogurt containers for my homemade yogurt- that way everyone knows what’s inside
  16. Reuse old t shirts, yoga pants, etc as hankies
