Michelle Obama recently launched a new initiative to solve the epidemic of child obesity…”To put in place common-sense initiatives and solutions that empower families and communities to make healthy decisions for their kids.”
About 32% of children and adolescents are obese or overweight in the USA according to government statistics. If Congress invests in healthier food in the upcoming Child Nutrition Act, this will help schools serve real food and move towards ending child obesity. This issue has broad public support, but surprise surprise, it isn’t appearing in the news. (I guess it’s not as important as say, Tiger Woods’ affairs.)
Soooo here’s an easy peasy way (even I took a whole 5 seconds to do) to make sure Congress gets the message and help the Slow Food movement put healthier foods in kids’ schools. Just click the logo below to place your vote!
