I catered a lunch to be filmed for InStyle Magazine TV yesterday. As I brought out dessert, the film crew turned the camera on me and the interviewer asked me about the dishes I created. I froze and barely whispered what they were - LOL. It's for Korean TV, so hopefully I'll be dubbed. I've always heard people proclaim that chocolate is high on the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale but I could never really find the proof - until now. I found this study from the USDA that compares the ORAC values of food. The top five per 100 grams in descending order are cloves, cinnamon, oregano, tumeric and cocoa powder. EcoFriendly Glass Drinking Straws

I just got a new glass straw from Glass Dharma. Love it! :) I chose the 8" smoothie size with green decorative dots. The dots are key, so it doesn't roll off the counter and break. I just made these little raw canapes last weekend for friends. They were really yummy and cute. Rolling them up and tying them with the chive without tearing it - tricky! I had a few casualties which I had to sacrifice and eat ;) but after the first couple, I had an assembly line going. I think soaking the chives in water helps make it more pliable. Adventures Across Oz – Part 1

Yep I did it. Crossed the continent of Australia from West to East Coast. On the "wrong" side of the road no less. lol. It was easier than I thought. The Best Job in The World

Probably everyone around the globe has heard about the Best Job in the World by now. Basically, the Queensland Tourism Board is holding a contest to find the ideal candidate to live on an island in the Great Barrier Reef in luxury accommodations AND get paid $150K to blog about it for six months. What a fair dinkum dream job!!! I only heard about it with one week to spare before the video entry deadline (so there’s the downside to not watching tv or reading the paper.) Anyway, I rushed to get my one-minute pitch in. Here it is:

Unfortunately, I was in TOTAL lala dream world to think that I would have even a remote shot at making the 50 shortlisted contestants. Of course with this kind of amazing prize jackpot, they received over 34,000 entries!! And as you can imagine the pros came out to meet the challenge – videographers, writers, actors, film directors, marine biologists – and then there’s little old me. LOL. There was even an awesome video animation! A lot of my rawie friends from the USA submitted some videos too. Hi guys! Too funny.

Well at least I can say I tried, so might as well make the video live and add to my YouTube archive. Would have been a dream come true to get paid to live and blog about the GBR for six delicious beachy months.
