An Unconventional Christmas

by lilla on December 24, 2008

Here I sit half way around the world in 84F degree weather on Christmas Eve in awe of life! Of course I miss my family dearly and New York is THE best place to be around the Holidays (NY Christmas Spirit is like no other place I’ve ever been) but I am so happy to be in one of the most beautiful places on earth no doubt! I’ve been to a lot of beaches around the world – Kauai, Singapore, the French Riviera, Mexico, Bahamas, Costa Rica – and nothing can compare to my little beachside community of Dunsborough Down Under. Kauai comes awfully close and has the advantage of massive picturesque mountains, but the beaches and ocean here are just magnificent! I swear if I could get a permanent visa here, I would buy a condo near the beach. Hell, with the US dollar being so strong, I’m seriously considering it any way as a rental investment. Can an American buy property in Oz? I’ll have to look into it.

Good news! Santa has delivered me a wonderful gift already. I was doing my usual rounds of all the bulletin boards in town and then I spotted it – a brand new flyer for a $50 used bike. I called right away, went to see it and rode off into the sunset on my new wheels. So happy that I can now get around town. Just in time too, as I was about to break down and buy a brand new one for $270. Finally I can get to the gym for some shredding. The next present I need is for Adam Waters of RTP-Blog.com to come to WA and put me through the RTP system so I can finally achieve a full body transformation! Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she? :D

Speaking of dreams, have you seen the video of Tom Venuto dancing?! I had to rub my eyes and do a double take when I saw it, but it’s REAL! Who knew a white boy from Joisey could bust out those moves. The man has rhythm and some cool threads to boot!! You’ve GOT TO see it. Check out Tom “The Dancing Machine” Venuto before he pulls this pirated video.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS DEAR FRIENDS!!
Love, Lil

The weather has certainly been good, although a little windy because of the cyclone. Glad you managed to find some transport.

Hope you have a great day tomorrow for Christmas Lilla.

Merry aussie christmas Lilla. You certainly have picked a beautiful & peaceful part of the world to live in. I'm sure you could buy property here, I know of a good real estate agent in Western Australia.

Hey there. I discovered your blog somewhat recently and I really enjoy reading it. I used to be vegan but stopped due to some pressure I felt noticing that most people striving for great pysiques lived on meat diets. I was so happy to find your blog and it gave me my confidence back for eating how I really want, and I feel so much better! So thanks! And great video link hahaha!!

Wow – didn't realize there was a cyclone!

Happy Holidays to you too! :)

Thanks Bec! I've only seen Duns and Busselton so far, so I'm hoping to see much more of the Margaret River region before deciding. Merry Christmas to you too!

Hi Lia! I know EXACTLY how you feel. I feel much better eating food that my body wants rather than trying to stay lean on high protein.

Glad you like my blog and thank you for the kind words! :D

Merry Christmas Lil, I'm sure the weather here in Oz is a little different to your home town of NJ! I predict a massively shredded 2009 (a full blooded transformation on RTP is the way to go!) Who knows, once I get my Aussie PT cert I may even put you through the RTP paces!

Wow – personal training by Adam Waters! Now there's something to blog about!
