Today was a great strength training day. I’m lifting more weight than my peak during ECSS 2008. Yay! Finally making up for lost ground, after regressing from my personal bests. I have a spotter for bench presses now, so this has really helped to take the fear out of going heavier. Also had a long talk with Carlos DeJesus about my habit of going over my eating plan on weekends. This really helped to give me some insight and “tools” to use when I’m feeling “weak.” So THIS is the difference between following a training plan on your own and having a trainer. The support and personalized help make such a difference!
Nutrition has been great this week and I’m enjoying experimenting with raw food prep and cooking. Made some really yummy baked butternut squash with sage and cranberries and raw cabbage slaw with cashews and raisins. Yum! I really love vegetables. So colorful and flavor-full!
Yesterday I read the first module of the soon-to-be-released RTP Training System by Adam Waters. I was one of the privileged few (yay) who got an advance copy after participating in the recent RTP Group Shred 2.0. It’s an awesome read so far! Not like any other training e-book I have ever read. There are 6 more modules to come that will be released every 5 days. Can’t wait for the next installment! In the meantime, I am filling out the written exercises and getting shred-ready.
