Wrapping up RTP Group Shred 2.0

by lilla on November 10, 2008

Here are my 2-week RTP Group Shred 2.0 pics. Overall I feel stronger, but the biggest difference to me has been how I “feel” healthwise. I’ve been eating really clean, high vegan and also doing some other cleansing protocols and I feel lighter, clearer and healthier. As much as I would LOVE to look like a figure model, my first and foremost goal is pure radiant health. But a strong, muscular bod wouldn’t hurt one iota! ;)

I’m still loving my workouts and watching my strength and endurance improve. Nutrition is great during the week, but I notice that I do eat more on the weekends during social get-togethers. Why do social gatherings always have to revolve around food? I think it puts some distance between really connecting with one another. A safety cushion. What if there was an uncomfortable silence and (gasp!) no food to play with or chew. We would actually have to listen and communicate with one another.

Woman you must have bad vision. You are a very beautiful young lady. sure I could just be saying that to make you feel good, but I am a harsh reality type person, if you looked like Matilda, the bearded , hump back frog lady I would say nice beard. You have this star quality vibe going on, great voice, a seemingly down to earth personality. Celebrate it !

note : if Matilda or any of her relatives read this I was not hating, just trying to prove a point.
its all good, its all good ;)

Your comment is the first thing I read this morning and I burst out laughing! Thank you Buff. Sometimes I do get overly obsessive about how I look and then I come to my senses and think “why do I do this to myself?” Deep-seated pattern I need to break! :)

    Thank you Angie! :)

I use Photoshop to format the pictures side by side but any imaging software should do the trick.

Lillia, first thaks for the sweet compliment you left on my post!
I totally agree with you on the fact that a healthy mind, inner being should be our goal and ultimately the body falls in line. You are a doll..let me rewrite that “a DOLL”, and a great encourager. You can have that that strong body you desire…may I remind you of a guy named ADAM? Eough said:-) Best!

Congrats on finishing the Shred. I really enjoyed reading your posts and comments. If your first goal is pure radiant health, I think you are pretty much there, you are looking great Lilla!

  • KaliLilla

Thank you Jason!!! You're too sweet! :)

Thank you Diane! I know I'll hit that ideal physique one day. Never say quit! :)

I agree that health from the inside out is paramount. You're looking outwardly good already (usually a sign of good health), but I know you can look rocking!

I have to disagree, though, with food being a distancing element in social gatherings. In my culture at least, food is meant to be shared, and sharing food means you care for each other. Focusing on the food, and not talking, however, is considered bad form!

I hear you Lilla. I too don't mind muscle one iota!

Glad you're feeling better from the new challenge. I am too.

It is interesting how food is always used at social events. Most people think food=love. Although I really can't imagine a get together more than an hour or two long without food. It's part of society/tradition.

  • KaliLilla

    Thanks Ron! :)

I think sharing food is a tradition in most cultures including the US. It's a way people show love and I think that can be a problem. Food is sustenance. LOVE is love. Affection is love. Truth is love. Connection is love. I enjoy sharing a meal with others but getting together to just talk sometimes leads to the best connections imho.

  • KaliLilla

Yes the challenge was the “kick in the butt” that I needed. LOL.

You're right – usually it would be hard to spend alot of time together without some food. Doing activities together like hiking is always fun. Hard to let a little trail mix get in the way. :)
But some of the best times I can recall is staying up all night chatting with a friend. No food necessary – well, maybe a hot cup of cocoa.

Privet KaliLilla! I do not always possible to remove a great temptation to overeating on weekends. Friends every weekend brings large portions of food high in calories and beer. As of this can be waived? And I'm afraid looks like “white ravens” … : (
