Only One More Day Left

by lilla on November 8, 2008

Rainy morning but got myself to Athletic Training class just-in-time. This class is so popular lately, that I have to make sure to leave extra early to snag a spot. My goal is to be as fit as the instructor one day. She is a lean machine!

In the evening, I did some intervals on the treadmill. I haven’t used a treadmill in a long time and had forgotten how much easier it is to do HIIT on a machine. When I run outdoors, I’m often stopped by traffic lights and cars. So I’m going to try and do a little bit of both indoor and outdoor running from now on.

My new sneakers seem to have solved my ankle problems – Yay! Now I can’t believe that I “suffered” for so long and all I needed was a new pair of shoes. I was just about ready to schedule ankle replacement surgery. Thank goodness I won’t have to do that anymore.

Only one more day in the RTP Group Shred 2.0. How did you all do? I’ve really enjoyed the enthusiasm of training with the group. Hope we can keep the magic going. Happy weekend to all!

Happy to hear that your ankle problem is resolved. It can be frustratiing to find that such a simple fix could have been applied a long time ago.

I'm glad you didn't have to have surgery. That could have really limited any cardio work for a while. I've really enjoyed the group shred as well, and am in on any others coming up.

Hi Lilla, I totally agree about HIIT on the treadie, it is great for measuring progress too.

    Hey Lilla,
I went through the same thing with my right knee a couple of years ago. A good pair of shoes can do amazing things!!! Glad you have your ankle right now :)
As to your question on my blog I really have no idea what my bodyfat levels are… I have never had them checked. I should ask at my gym if they have calipers or scales. Do you know how accurate either of those methods are?

Good for you with your classes, tready, and new shoes. Little things make such a big difference really. Bet your green smoothies are going well too. Have a good Monday tomorrow.

Thanks Angie. Seems like we usually have the same weather!

It's good to do both I think. Best of both worlds. :)

  • KaliLilla

I've tried both and I think the scale is more accurate. Unless maybe you have someone else using the calipers on you who knows what they're doing. When I used the calipers on myself, the readings were all over the place!

It was a good day. Kicking off again on Monday!

  • KaliLilla

Yeah it would have been tough on the cardio. ;D

I could just bang my head against the wall for not doing it sooner – BANG, BANG, BANG!

I had forgotten how valuable the treadie can be and cushy too! It's good to do both I think. Best of both worlds. :)
