4 Weeks Left of R & R and Halloween Jokes

by lilla on October 31, 2008

Happy Halloween Everyone!

There are now four weeks left until Thanksgiving Day and four weeks left in my Raw and Ripped (R & R) mission. I did a trifecta shred today – strength training in the morning, 1.5 mile jog in the afternoon and rowing in the evening.

I was inspired by Ali, the first female winner of The Biggest Loser, to try out the rowing machine. It’s pretty tough! I did an overhand grip and then an underhand grip for 10 minutes like Ali did.

The underhand grip felt unusual and since my PT Carlos DeJesus gave me a good reason NOT to use an underhand (or mixed grip) on deadlifts, I think the same “reasons why” apply here but I’ll have to ask because it felt like I was targeting my biceps more. I’m going to incorporate 20 minutes of rowing as a cardio option. It worked my legs and arms hard and it’s fun!

Also just got the “green light” on one of the biggest details in making my PRW happen – woohoo! Have one more hurdle to overcome and then it’s a done deal. Sooooo excited!

Happy Halloween – muahahahahahahAHAH!

    Hi Lilla,
I have enjoyed SO MUCH your blog on The Biggest Loser, as is my favorite thing here. I get them very late of course, but they give me such inspiration. When I saw ALI doing the challenge, on one program she was my exact weight....and lost 7 pounds in one week! I thought why in heck can´t I do that? The answer is I could....IF I worked as hard as she. I have a rowing machine in my garage, and think will find it and give it a try. The trick is to get into it! WHAT oh WHAT is that *huge* deal you are going to surprise us with? Cannot wait!

  • Yeah Ali is a little powerhouse! When I look at her before pictures and than look at her arms and abs now, I think why can't I JUST lose these last 10lbs already and build some muscle like she did? I guess you have to REALLY be ready for it and have a huge PRW. I'm going to do it if it's the last thing I do! LOL.

("Huge" deal to be revealed in good time...heehee. Me and my clifhangers.)
  • Rowing is to me lie ironing! You are a brave girl.

    Enjoy your Helloween,
we don't have that here in Germany,

    Juli
  • Ohhh..I hated ironing too! I never iron any more. I rather be wrinkly. ;)
  • The rowing machine! My back aches just thinking about it. lol

    Cute jokes.
  • It's FUN I tell ya! (Still trying to convince myself - lol.)
