Yes, it seems like a lot of soul searching and catharsis had to happen before they were able to excel and see results.

Ali said she works out 2 hrs/day. I can do that for a mission but not sure it's something I would want to do forever.

I think when you are very overweight you can probably lose weight faster BUT still must be a shock to go from 7hrs of training for 5 months back to your regular life. How do you make that transition without re-gaining? They are already eating the minimum. I dunno. Some of them DID manage to do it though!

You are right - quality running shoes make a WORLD of difference!!

Ah...there's the rub - maintaining.
I know I've lost and gained the same 10-20 lbs more than I care to remember. It IS a lifestyle change and surrounding yourself with a community that is supportive.

Yes and Ali who has kept it off for 6 months has to work out 2 hours/5x per week plus recreational activity on the 6th day to maintain. I just wonder how sustainable that is and what happens if she lets up a little? It'll be interesting to watch her progress. She's a great female role model of the possibilities that are obtainable with perseverance and hard work! I would love to have her arms and those pull-ups that she does!
