Carlos DeJesus Interview – Part 3

by lilla on October 29, 2008

Here is Part 3 of my interview with World Natural Champion Bodybuilder Carlos DeJesus. In this clip, Carlos talks about the “Experiment of One.”

p.s. I’m trying to make the interview clips longer, but am limited by file size restrictions so it’s still a cliffhanger! LOL.

At the end of this clip, I ask Carlos what percentage nutrition plays versus workouts. “Does one have a greater effect on physique changes than the other?” Carlos does give percentages in his answer. After watching the video, can you guess what he said? Take a shot at the answer in a comment and then stay tuned for Part 4 later this week!

This was by far the best video in the series so far! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this one. Have you had thoughts of making the entire series available for download or maybe making an mp3 available?

Looking forward to the next part! Thanks Lilla, I really appreciate all the work you've done to get these out.

  • KaliLilla

    Good guess! ;)
    Answer to be revealed soon.

  • KaliLilla

    Your welcome Ron. :)

  • KaliLilla

Wow – great idea Mike. I'll leave it up to Carlos to decide if he wants to make it a download, mp3 or part of his personal training in the future.

So watch them now! Who knows how long they will be available. :D

OK, so why is it that I don't see any videos on any of the posts where you interview Carlos? What am I missing?

  • KaliLilla

I don't know Michael. Maybe your browser is blocking the video for some reason.

  • Danny

meh, once again i compliment you on cutting the video at the good part, lol.
And this, i agree was the best of the 3 sofar.
The intuetively training part surprized me a bit, since it fit almost exactly with what always did and still am doing.
I never had a real fitness plan. Same with nutrition. I just ate somewhere around the calories required. It was all intuetively.
I see most of the shreddersphere following plans like BFFM or Meta.Surge or TT.
But i dont think i would get along with a pre-determined plan which i myself didnt feel comfortable with. Now i know that i wasnt all that wrong afterall.
Thanls carlos for the interview and thanks lilla for posting it.

  • KaliLilla

So glad you enjoyed it, Danny!

I think there is a learning curve before you can trust your intuition. If you don't know the basics of weightlifting, you may hurt yourself. After the learning, I believe you take the information and adapt it to your unique circumstances using your intuition. Books like BFFM, MS, TT are great tools for people to begin their journey and take from it what works for them and discard what doesn't.

  • Carlos

    Shredders,
    Lilla is exactly right.
There must be much experience, education, time, trial and error before one can have an accurate intuitive process.

And there are many good instruments whereby we can gain knowledge, information, and insights that will help all of us come to an accurate individual place of what is best for us.

When we read an interview we should take in account who we are listening to, and how long they have been doing what they are doing. It would be very difficult to offer all the right disclaimers having done exercise for 44 years.

To have someone else's conclusions is to “borrow” their intuition. We all need to form our own.
We are talking health and fitness, all bets are off when you become involved in something as extreme as bodybuilding competition with regard to diet and exercise.

    Carlos

  • KaliLilla

“To have someone else's conclusions is to 'borrow' their intuition.”
    Wow – love that line.

Thanks for commenting Carlos and clearing up any ambiguity.
    :)

I can see your vision video just fine, but there isn't even a spot on the screen for the videos with Carlos at all. Odd. I'm going to clear cache and see if that helps.

  • MichaelMahony

Weird…I even tried Firefox and no video. I'm bummed!

  • KaliLilla

That's strange. Sounds like your computer, not the browser. Maybe some security software is blocking it?

  • MichaelMahony

What is weird is that if I go to your videos page I can see all those videos
    just fine.
