14 Day Countdown!

by lilla on October 27, 2008

The countdown is on. The 14-Day RTP Group Shred 2.0 Challenge kicked off today with 15 participants! Wow – that’s an awesome turnout of people.

I got off to a good start with Ashtanga this morning, strength training in the afternoon and athletic conditioning in the evening. My weak ankle has been acting up again, so I won’t be running for a few days but instead substituting it with athletic conditioning classes.

Oooo…I just got a new pair of sneakers made for over-pronators so I’m hoping this REALLY helps when I start running again in a few days! I miss my early morning frosty podcast jogs.

Diet has been good, but needs to be tracked closer. Will start keeping a closer eye on totals tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what the next 14 days will bring for all the challengers! Welcome all and let’s shred hard! :D

Looking great. Your blog is even better than I remember. A very exciting 14 days! Happy Day One Lilla! Sorry to hear about your ankle. Is it the same ankle as before? I over-pronate when I walk. I got some Addidas at the running shoe store that are made for over-pronaters. I need new sneakers though. Do tell what brand you bought if you get a chance. :)

3 work-outs in a day is a lot! I hope that the new shoes will help you a lot to recover your ankle. Quality-shoes are really a must when it comes to running.

    Good luck with you shredding.

Yeah the pictures are a reality check. There's no hiding from the truth. Time for a change!

Thanks Mike! Will miss you on the 14 day shred. :(

I don't think I can honestly call my Ashtanga a workout – it's my stretchy slow home version – lol. But reading everyone's posts and comments today, really makes the shredding infectious! Looking forward to shredding hard! Thanks again for starting this.

I'm really hoping the running shoes help too! It's truly the only form of steady-state cardio that I enjoy.

It goes back and forth between ankles. I don't understand because I used to be a treadmill junkie waaaay back when and never had a problem. So it's probably my cheap worn-out sneakers or running on asphalt is just too hard on me. I'm hoping its the sneakers because I prefer running outdoors.

I ordered the Adidas Running Response from Zappos:

hope you get back into your run soon – keep pushing hard with the other workouts…I'm excited too to see all the results…14 days…a walk in the park with some sacrifices:-)

    Hi Lilla,
Great to see you in your shredding photo, and talk about that WOW factor. You have lost so much weight since way back then, and know how pleased you are with your skinny, svelte silouhette. This is so fun to be all together again.

OMG – I was reading your blog rather quickly and thought you said you bought tennis shoes for over procrastinators! I had to read that a second time. I first thought – I could sure use a pair of those!

Good luck on the challenge, Lilla.

  • KaliLilla

    It's worth it! ;)

  • KaliLilla

Yes so much more fun to shred with a group!

  • KaliLilla

Haha – that's so funny! I would buy a pair of those too.
