202 – Legend of The Shredder

by lilla on July 4, 2008

I was hanging out in the Turbulence Training forum yesterday and someone responded to my use of the phrase “Shred On!” He posted a pic and said that every time he hears it, it reminds him of THE SHREDDER! So of course, I just HAD to look it up.

Who is “The Shredder” you ask? Adam Waters? Tom Venuto? You? …Why no, he’s that handsome devil above.

“Shredder (A.K.A. The Shredder, Oct 1984) is a fictional character in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe. He is a villainous ninjutsu master also known by his birth name Oroku Saki. Shredder is the archenemy of the Turtles…skilled master of Ninjutsu, excellent physical abilities, experienced hand-to-hand combat and intellect. ” – Wikipedia

Haha…Looks like we have a mascot!

*********LILLA’S JULY 2008 GOALS*********

Since the gym was closed today, I swapped my weight-training day with my interval workout day. I went to the outdoor track and did 8 intervals of sprinting and walking, and then 30 minutes of steady-state jogging with bleacher runs every quarter mile. Running up steps is tough! But it’s good because it breaks up the monotony.

I, too, am reminded of the shredder from the TMNT movies.
Your posts are so organized. Love how you are documenting everything.

  • juli gets happy

    The shredder,”cute” pet,hahaha, ;-) . I think HE has a hair-problem.

I love your posts a lot, thank you.

Thank you Suzette and Juli! I have fun being overly silly and dramatic online. Doesn’t work so well in real life – haha.

  • Adam Waters

Haha, that Shredder is one fearsome looking dude! I gotta Lilla, it was a materstroke of you to start this Challenge, I’m fired up!

Glad I could fire you up Adam! Time to bring home the bacon and shred++++! See you on the scoreboard.

  • Michael

Everytime I think of “Shredder” I think of TMNT movies as well. A rat :-)

I’ve never seen TMNT, Michael. Is it a rat? I know he’s a bad guy but I thought he was a ninja.
Not exactly a cute mascot but he sure is fierce! lol.

  • Andrew

Hye Lilla, I have registered for the Nike + challenge, will be next week before I get my sportsband so will be a few days until the miles start going up. Registered as bloodsweat…

    Take care,

    Andrew

  • Michael

Lilla, yes, Shredder is a rat. He stars in this episode:

    Check it out!

  • Debbie

I had no idea shredder was a real *figure*. Too funny!

Yay!!! Welcome Andrew!!! Glad to have you on board.

Hmmm…I don’t know Michael – the modern Shredder character is kind of buff! lol. Doesn’t look like a rat to me. Evil maybe, but not a rodent.

Me neither Deb. The Shredder in the clip Michael posted IS REALLY shredded! Wonder if that was intentional when they revamped the character.

  • Larry

    Lilla,
How do you like the Turbulance training system? Looks like it is working for you. I bought it a few weeks ago, but haven’t done anything with it yet.

    Hi Larry!

I do like it very much especially for the variety. I like working out in the gym with weights, but I also like more “functional” exercise i.e. Crossfit. TT provides a combination of both worlds. Give it a shot and LMK how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! :)
