Day 178 – How to Beat the Summer Heat Shredder-Style

by lilla on June 10, 2008

Behold the Pro-sicle! Is it protein? Is it dessert?
It’s a protein shake on a stick and it’s gooood!

It’s 97 balmy degrees here in NJ and this is how I keep my cool. Although, after living in the Arizona desert, 97F is down right nippy (that’s 36 degrees for all you mod Celsius 2.0 people.)

So are you ready for the secret Pro-sicle recipe handed down from my great-great-great-great grandmama Lil?

LILLA’S CHILL PRO-SICLE:

Ingredients:
  • Sun Warrior Raw Protein Powder
  • water or almond milk

Directions:

  1. Mix ingredients together to desired taste.
  2. Pour into popsicle molds.
  3. Place in freezer.
  4. Wait 3+ hours.
  5. Unmold and eat!

Who loves ya, baby? Mangia!

Sounds delicious! Never thought to try this :)

Even though it’s winter down under, I’m going to give it a go!

It’s good any time of the year. Just put on a hat and mittens and enjoy!

Sorry Lilla…I’m not convinced. Where the heck is the Kool-aid in the recipe? LOL. Just Kidding about the Kool-aid. Have you ever tried adding an artificial sweetener such as Stevia or is your protein already sweetened?

Will be interested in feedback when other shredders give it a try!

Great idea! Have you ever tried this:

That stuff is like ice cream! Try some!

    Michael,
I couldn´t get to the page of your ice cream. Tell me again where it is…am so intrigued. Haven´t had ice cream more than once in years.

    LILLA,
You can be sure will try what you showed us. Will do it today!

    Hi Debbie,
My protein powder is already sweetened. Kool-aid huh? That could be an interesting addition. ;)

    Michael,
I’ve ALWAYS been intrigued by GF’s protein ice cream but never ordered it. But now with your testimonial, I may just get some!

    Lynda,
The Pro-pops are nice on a hot summer day but a little “icey” vs.creamy. Definitely worthwhile but sounds like the pro ice cream Michael mentioned tastes like the real deal!

    Hi Lilla,

I love propsicles. I ate them a lot last summer. In my recipe I add greens+ berry flavour, some blueberries and a tsp almond butter to the protein powder. Ableit higher cal, more like a meal than anything else, but really good and fruity.

    cheers,
    nic

Ohhhh, Nic – that’s sounds good! I’ll have to expand my Pro-sicle repertoire!
