Day 175 – Transformation as a Metaphor

by lilla on June 7, 2008

Thanks everyone for your comments to yesterday’s post. It seems like self-sabotage and the “all or nothing” mentality can be quite common. And a physique transformation is just one way this “mind games” can manifest, often becoming a metaphor or a reflection of other areas of our lives.

I think Bob came very close to the reason why I self-sabotage myself. It’s a fear of rebounding back to my highest (or even a higher) weight. My weight has yoyo-ed four major times in my life. Each time I hit my lowest weight, I swore I would never go back to being fat. But sure enough, each time I would gain the weight back and then some. Subconsciously, I think I’m scared to hit my goal weight because history has taught me that I can’t maintain it and I will balloon back up. So instead, I’m just treading around this 103-108lb safety zone but never really feeling satisfied with my physique.

The “all or nothing” attitude is a big one for me too. For example I can go all out gangbusters with business ventures, or veg out on a farm in Kauai doing work-trade. Sometimes, it can work in my favor. I can muster up the energy to go strong and get things done.

So, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to harness that energy for my next shred and just get the job done already. I’m taking a page from the 6-pack shredder boys Adam Water: RTP-Blog 2.0 and Bob: Prepare for Glory – preparing for glory or do or die!

“but never really feeling satisfied with my physique” Therein lies the answer to this battle…you just gotta love Lilla right now with the way you look etc. It isn’t about the outside that counts, it is about the inside…sure it is important to fulfill a specific goal, but at the end of the day it is all about how much you love you, and if you’re making a positive difference in the lives of others. In my books you are…one quality that shines bright…you’re real!Best – D

Such a relief to read today about your decision to go forward. Had me scared there for awhile. You can do it all Lilla. Everything. You´ve got a handle on all the big things in life and can use it all for you and getting ahead. You´re going to be a model for me…want to see how you do it and copy. Go for it like Buffedstuff said! Love yourself like Diane says, and know for sure that we´re all out there loving you all the way!
